Up, Down and All Around

A JaRlan's Thoughts on the Qpids Grand Finals

I have to admit that I was totally surprised by the Qpids Love Council's decision to award the Qpids Grand Loveteam title to Paw and Mikel.

But now that it's been more than 24 hours since the Grand Finals aired, I find myself happy and content with the way things turned out. Why? Well, a lot of reasons:

• JaRla's Thank You Video. The night of the Grand Finals (Sep 22), Margaux sent me a JaRla video clip which she had taken backstage before the taping. On that video, Carla and Janus thanked everyone who has been supporting them all throughout Qpids. I was so thrilled! I would have hugged Margz right then and there, if she were standing next to me! LOL. They looked happy and relaxed and it made my day because they knew that we've been supporting them.
  
• Carla's September 23 Ktext. The next day, Carla's Ktext subscribers received two MMS messages from her. She and Janus were at the airport, getting ready to fly off to Bangkok! And they both looked incredibly happy. JaRla'ns on PEx were thrilled. :D
  
• JaRla's Gifts and Messages to one another. During the Grand Finals episode, each loveteam had an opportunity share their gifts and messages with one another. Undeniably, JaRla had the sweetest and most kilig messages and sentiments. And their sincerity was so obvious. I think these two PEx posts from Jilwynistas KayeLa and Jaq say it best.
• JaRla Winning the Voter's Choice Award. With 41% of the total votes, no less! I had heard earlier on Sunday morning that JaRla had won the Voter's Choice, but finding out that it was with 41% of the votes just made my day! Woohoo!

So in the end, I believe that JaRla got the best of both worlds. They won the equivalent of the "People's Choice" award, therefore proving that there's something magical in their tandem; but they don't have any pressure to live up to the expectations that come with the "Ultimate Loveteam" title.

Now as to why the loveteam of Paw and Mikel were the Love Council's choice, well, I have my own theory, but that's something that I'm only willing to share with friends. ;)
