Rude Awakening
I'm the last person on earth to consider myself an expert on everything.
But there are some things that I do happen to know quite well -- things that I can say are in my [ahem!] "domain of expertise."
So it's very disconcerting to realize that while I've been smugly resting on my laurels and feeling confident about my skills in a particular area, time has been passing and I've not been keeping up.
I do not want to ever experience this feeling again.
